New Angel Wooden Blocks

I finished these blocks the other night. I just have not had time to post them. I did list them on ETSY tonight. I love the way they turned out. They really have a vintage feel to them.

I had so much fun doing the giveaway for my 50th post. I'd like to do another giveaway soon.

Want to let you all know that I am going out of town wednesday. I'm not sure if I will be able to post or not. We are going to see our son & daughter-in-law in North Carolina. Will be going to Washinton DC on thursday & friday. I am so excited to go for the visit plus do some site seeing. We have never been to Washington or North Carolina. I know we will have so much fun. I will post photos as soon as possible.

I apologize that it has taken me so long to get this posted. I have been up since 6 am, we had a garage sale, & I've been so busy. I placed all the names in the box below for the drawing. And hubby helped me. He drew the name out of the box for me.

Okay now for the sweet little surprise! Day before yesterday my hubby called me out to the back yard. He said I have something I want you to see. So I followed him out back & this is what he showed me.....look up in the tree..................

Get closer...closer...and see the sweet little birds nest? We found out that it is a dove's nest & she has 2 little eggs in it. I love to listen to the dove's sing late in the afternoon, they coo to each other, a very soft & sweet sound.

Did you know that dove's mate for life? I think that is so sweet. I just love this sweet little nest and wanted to share it with all of my new found blog friends I hope you are all having a great weekend! Hugs***Renea

Art Room & Work Space

I would like to say thank you to all of my dear blog friends who frequent my site. I love to read your comments and love to visit your sites. Each site inspires me in different ways. So glad that I decided to start a blog!

I decided to post a photo of my art space/room/studio/den etc....... I have seen some of your art spaces & they are so interesting that I thought it would be fun to post mine. And I must say that I did clean up before I took this photo. Yesterday the Funky Art Queen came over, & she made me laugh, because she wanted to see all my art "stuff" & how I have it organized. As you will see in the photo, organization of my art supplies is NOT my strong suit!

Okay I want everyone to know that this desk once upon a time was my hubby's, but as you can see it is now totally mine! Also I would like you to notice the shelf on the far right hand side...well that once upon a time was also hubby's, but now most of it is mine. He still has a space on top for his airplanes. HeeHee!

Still Time To Sign Up For Giveaway

Last night I started on a piece & couldn't decide on what to put on it. I thought about children, birds (of course), & then it came to me!! I decided to make a piece for Mother's Day. And I love the way it turned out. It is a collage on a 6x6" wrap around canvas, the Mother is sweetly holding the young child. There is a post card on the right hand side & it says, "Of all the gifts that I might give in one way or another, I know you'll treasure most these words, I love you, precious Mother." And it is dated November 16th, 1928. This piece is also listed on my etsy.

I hope each & everyone of you are having a GREAT EASTER! It is quite here today, just me the hubby & of course our 2 brat chihuahua's. Plus it's a little cold today, rained a little last night. We have just stayed in all day. Which has given me plenty of art time. Yeah! Thanks to all of you that stop by for a peek! I am going back to the art room for awhile. Hugs!!!!

Giveaway soon for 50th post!

I finally finished my shadow box, well actually one of them, I started 2 of them @ the same time. I made the shadow box from an old cigar box. In this box the bird & the tag are 2 dimensional. I drilled holes in the top & pulled muslin threw it & tied knots in the muslin to make a hanger. As most of you know by now, I have a thing for birds. (this phase may last awhile)! So that's why I chose to use birds in my shadow boxes. The photo is a little more yellow than the actual piece. I tried to repair with edit in the photo program but it didn't work. Anyway hope you all like my shadow box.

Lucy added to ETSY

This is one of my first "Lucy" paintings. She is holding a heart in her hand, which was a special delivery from the little mail bird. "Lucy" was added to ETSY tonight.

Wooden Blocks with Children
I had started these wooden blocks this past summer & could not decide what to put on them. So I saw them last night & decided to put children on them. (Maybe I was influenced by my Grandson's that were here all week!) So I will be adding these to etsy sometime this weekend.

We went to San Angelo (TX) today. We meet my daughter & son-in-law, so that we could get the boys (our grandson's) back to them. The boys stayed with us during spring break. San Angelo is about a 1 & 1/2 hour drive from here, & the boys talked all the way there. They are so funny & so witty. We went & saw the movie "Horton Hears A Who". It was a cute & silly movie & perfect for kids. While we were in San Angelo, we went to an antique mall downtown. I found 7 old cigar boxes & 7 old photos all in great condition for only $8.00. I was so excited! What a great find!!! We are back home now & it seems so quite without the boys. I just wish we could see them more often. And my daughter was so cute, she had a cute & sassy hair cut! Okay I've gone on and on, so I will say good night & happy blogging!

Collage with Frame

I am thinking about adding this collage to etsy, I did this collage sometime ago. I really like this collage, I also have framed this collage. It is either 8x10 or 9x12 not sure of the size. I love the colors & the angel watching over the music. I named this collage "music from heaven". The stars are 2 dimensional. Should I add this to etsy? What do you think? Tonight I started a new project. I have wanted to do a shadow box collage for a long time now. So I finally started one tonight. I had some old cigar boxes so I used gesso & covered it real well. It is currently drying. Of course this shadow box must have birds. (I'm still in my bird phase!) I have an idea of how I want this to turn out, but it may take a few days. As soon as I am done I will post a photo.

Changes to the Bedroom & Living Room

We worked so hard this weekend on this bedroom, but I think it all turned out really nice. I love the colors, so soft & subtle. As you can see the lamps are in place, which hubby likes now with the new comforter, framed art & pillows etc...My friend's came over today to see the new look & they too loved the change.

The photo with the leopard chair is where my hubby does his school work. He is working on his master's in business administration. The leopard chair was in the living room but we moved it to the bedroom. It looks great in our bedroom. The photo above is the tall chest with the word happiness written in wood. I loved this wood piece because I am so happy, I love my family, I love my life, I love my friends, I love my art, okay you get the message. Hee Hee!!

We also rearranged the living room. It was much easier than the bedroom!

I love all the little things on the coffee table. The wood, metal & mirror basket with the garden balls, the little wooden basket with the easter eggs, and of course my little birds. I love birds, I'm having a bird thing going on here. Not sure why, but they just look so sweet. Hope you enjoy the photos! I feel like this was a house parade. HaHa!

Wooden Blocks

I recently made another set of wooden blocks. I will be putting these blocks on etsy tomorrow. These blocks are very sweet, done in pinks, with vintage women. I'm not sure of the measurements, but will measure before I list on etsy. I have also been working on some sweet little birds that I have collaged. These are still a work in progress. But hope to have some finished this weekend. This weekend is going to be very busy, we are going to rearrange our bedroom & part of the living room. I have already warned the hubby to just move everything where I ask without complaining. He never wants to change anything, but then after we move things around or paint a room a different color, he ends up loving it. Oh well, we will see! Ha Ha!

Pay It Forward

Oh my Gosh...I received my "Pay it forward" gift today in the mail. Oh it was just beautiful. My gift came from Deborah @ pictures, pots and pens. I don't know how Deborah knew that my favorite color is pink, but the little box she sent me was pink with all kinds of goodies inside. Plus everything was wrapped in pink rose tissue paper. I just kept unwrapping wonderful things. There was a little candle in a round tin box, a bar of the best smelling milk bath soap, a pure milk chocolate bar (what woman doesn't love chocolate?), adorable magnets, a note pad that says (both of us can't look good, it's either ME or the house) and also 3 cute little Mary Engelbreit magnets. The 2 refrig. magnets are oh so me! The 1st one states (I only have a kitchen b/c it came with the house), the 2nd (House work can't kill you, but why take a chance) hee hee!! I hate cleaning house! Okay just want to remind you that I still need one more person to participate in the "pay it forward". So if you are interested let me know, leave a comment. New Lamps

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is well, I finally feel like myself, finally have some energy. So after work today went to Stein Mart to look for new sheets. Not only did I find sheets, I also found a new comforter & the cutiest new lamps. I fell in love with these lamps the second that I saw them. My hubby hated the lamps! But I told him, (you are always complaining b/c our lamps don't match, so I'm getting these), he said they looked dumb. Anyways I just couldn't live without them. We will be rearranging our bedroom this weekend & I'll post photos of the end result, but you just have to see these lamps. The lamps have the cutiest little bird nest with robin eggs in the nests & on top of the shade is a little bird. (I currently have a thing for birds)! Anyway let me know what you think? Are they cute or should I have left them in the store?
